Laureus Sport for Good is an international aid organisation. It promotes programmes that teach the values of sport to disadvantaged children: fairness, consideration, respect and responsibility. Programmes against discrimination, racism and violence.
The principle of the foundation is: Sport creates strong personalities and strong personalities have a better perspective in life.
Laureus Sport for Good supports over 200 programmes in more than 40 countries worldwide, which use the power of sport to improve the lives of children and young people in the long term.
Sebastian Steudtner is is comitted to the wirmachenwelle programme, which teaches children and young people values such as tolerance and the ability to deal with conflict through sport, especially surfing. Wirmachenwelle teaches young people the motto: “Persevereinstead of giving up” and thus to believe in themselves and their ideas.
Wirmachenwelle e.V. was founded by the German big wave surfer Sebastian and his sister Johanna Steudtner as a heart project to support disadvantaged children and young people in developing their potentials and strengths.
The association has been implementing social sports projects related to surfing in Germany since 2018.
