Nature conservation concerns us all

  • Preservation of biological diversity
  • A living planet for us and our children
  • Stop global destruction of nature and the environment and shape a future in which people and nature live in harmony.

The World Wide Fund For Nature (WWF) is one of the world's largest and most experienced conservation organizations and is active in more than 100 countries. It is supported by around five million supporters worldwide. The WWF's global network maintains 90 offices in more than 40 countries. Around the globe, employees are currently carrying out 1300 projects to preserve biodiversity.

WWF is the largest and most influential environmental organization in Germany. Its national and international projects help to achieve your goals and prove that conservation and responsible use of natural resources are compatible with sustainable economic development.

Nationally and internationally, WWF makes an effective contribution to the preservation of biodiversity, uniqueness and beauty of nature in selected key ecological regions. In Germany, they are particularly committed to protecting the North and Baltic Seas, coasts, river systems, wetlands and forests, and aim to ensure that endangered species such as the wolf, lynx, bear, otter, eagle and sturgeon can colonize their habitats undisturbed and are respected as inhabitants and indicators of an intact natural world.

The earth's natural habitats are being destroyed at an unprecedented rate. If the consumption of natural resources continues as it is, we will need two planets by 2050 to meet our needs for food, energy and infrastructure. Reason enough to take countermeasures by actively protecting nature!

Never has it been more important to fight for our planet. Never have we had clearer targets for environmental protection than those formulated in the UN Sustainable Development Goals and agreed in the Paris global climate treaty. Never have we known more precisely what needs to be done to save our planet - and never have the prospects for success been better!

WWF inspires more and more people for nature and an environmentally friendly lifestyle because it speaks directly to them and sets good examples. Children and young people learn about nature and environmental protection at school and become enthusiastic about our WWF goals and activities.
