Getting out of bed on my own in the morning. Brushing my teeth without help. Walking hand in hand with my partner. The wishes of people with spinal cord injuries sound simple - but they’re not.

Wings for Life has set out to change exactly that. Since 2004, the nonprofit foundation has been raising funds and supporting the most promising research projects and clinical trials around the world. Funded researchers work every day at renowned institutions such as Charité in Berlin, Harvard Medical School, and Yale University to make spinal cord injuries curable. The scientific community agrees: It is no longer a question of whether there will be a cure, but when.
