HELP FOR ALL PEOPLE - REGARDLESS OF THEIR POLITICAL, ETHNIC, NATIONAL AND RELIGIOUS AFFILIATION.

  • The Samaritan Federation (ASB) Germany is an aid and welfare organization.
  • Offers and services are oriented to the need for help and the needs of the people.
  • The association is supported by over 1.4 million members.

The ASB originated in the workers' movement in 1888, when six Berlin carpenters took the initiative and, against much opposition, pushed through the first training course on first aid for accidents in companies.

Today, the ASB is an innovative service provider for socially relevant tasks such as care, child and youth welfare, rescue and civil protection, and is oriented to the needs of the people. As an aid organization, ASB is involved in rescue services, first aid training, civil defense and disaster control, and medical services.

As a welfare organization, the ASB is active in many areas. These include, in particular, assistance and care for the elderly, palliative care, assistance for children and young people, and assistance for the disabled.

Those who would like to get involved on a voluntary basis will also find many opportunities to become active at the ASB. The spectrum ranges from humanitarian aid abroad to water rescuers and rescue dog handlers to visiting services at retirement homes.

The ASB is divided into the federal association, 16 state associations, 194 regional, district and local associations and 131 limited liability companies. In its entirety, the ASB employs more than 40,000 full-time employees and more than 20,000 volunteers.
