YOU CAN RESCUE A CHILD FROM WAR. BUT HOW DO YOU RESCUE WAR FROM THE CHILD?
- War Child creates safe spaces where children can play, learn and simply be children.
- Through psychosocial support initiatives such as ‘TeamUp’, the organisation promotes children’s mental health and resilience.
- The ‘Can’t Wait To Learn’ e-learning programme gives children access to education – even in places where there are neither schools nor teachers.
- Sustainable protection structures are being established in collaboration with local partners and communities.
War Child’s mission is to give children in and from war-torn and conflict-affected areas a future full of hope.
Through programmes in the areas of mental health, education and protection, the NGO builds children’s resilience and helps them to process traumatic experiences and develop positive outlooks for the future.
War Child has been supporting children and young people affected by war and armed conflict since 1995 and now operates worldwide. The work of this international organisation is based on creative, scientifically proven methods that provide children and their families with exactly the support they need.
War Child Germany was founded in Hamburg in 2019 to reach even more people. In 2022, the multi-award-winning play and exercise programme “TeamUp” was also rolled out in Hamburg and Berlin and has since been implemented with refugee children in shared accommodation.
